**Joey Totes**

shapeimage_6Mom and I visit the local Aldi grocery store. I go there quite often because my family can drink almost a gallon and a half of milk every day. At 3 buxs a gallon or more, I wish i had two milking cows in my backyard. Aldi has their milk so much cheaper than anyone else at 1.50 a gallon. I watched the Maola truck pull in there on day and unload and after that I was sold! With a two year old, a hubby and a son who loves cereal, and I who am addicted to Honey Nut Cheerios, we go through some milk.

If you have never been to an Aldi, before let me explain a few things. The brand names in there are obscure brand names you may have never heard before. Some brand names may be from Europe and most quite are. They have a itty bitty section of wine, and sell a nice bottle of Merlot for 3.99 that  is perfect for making a bathtub full of Sangria with. (Thats a story for another day).  You pay 25 cent to get the cart out and you bring your own bags. Finally one day, that I don’t get weird looks when I bring my own bags. You do have the option of purchasing paper bags with handles for  5 cent or nice plastic ones for 10 cent. You can buy there branded nylon material type tote for  a buck and even a nice freezer bag for 2 bucks. Ok back to original story.

Mom and I go into Aldi. I load my cart up with 3 gallons of milk, no wine this time and a dozen eggs. Mom is amazed and grabs a couple things for herself. As we are checking out, she asks me, how do we want to do this whole bagging thing? I said I got mine covered. She looks in my cart, left and right of me, and at me. She says, “where in the hell are you hiding your bags”. I said in my purse. She gives a puzzled look.

I pull out of my purse  a Joey Tote.
Joey Totes are my new favorite carrying bag for my groceries!
Each bag collapses into an oversized pouch sewn into the inside seam of each bag. Each pouch is designed to carry more than one bag so you can build your own set.
They are made out of this tough type of nylon that is commonly made for outdoor apparel. (think tent material here). You will be surprised of how many groceries you can fit into a pack of these. Once I used them, I was almost ashamed to carry a whole buttload of plastic home again!

Needless to say, I did not give up every Joey Tote to my mother. She will be getting one in the near future. I do get compliments on them at the store , from time to time and some do stop and ask where I get them.

Joey Totes are not expensive at all, especially when they will last forever and will clean a whole lot easier than the cheaper store brands.

Remember, next time you go to the store, its either  choke a bird (plastic) or kill a tree (paper) or a Joey Tote!
